Young Musicians

SHIMF is a registered charity and in addition to putting on concerts, the Committee commits to supporting and promoting music to school children through the String Scheme,  open rehearsals and special pricing for under 30s.

The Festival also provides a Winter Concert and lunchtime Concerts associated with guided walks during the May season as performance platforms for top post-graduate students from a London Music Conservatoire. See here for a video clip of Amy Thompson and Helen Pearce performing at the 2023 Festival supporters’ Winter Party.

An exciting development that took place for the first time during the 2022 Season is the Surrey Hills Young Composers Competition promoted by the Festival.  The subsequent running of the competition was held for the 2024 season.

Surrey Hills International Music Festival is a Registered Charity No. 1171264
