Festival Manager Job Opportunity

£22.50 per hour, part-time 15 hours per week, September 2023 – June 2024.

10-month self-employed contract, potential for renewal.

This very successful annual international music festival, now preparing for its fifteenth season, seeks a new Festival Manager to take over its running and administration from the outgoing manager. The festival’s two-week concert season takes place each May and presents world-famous artists, ensembles and speakers at its headline concerts in beautiful venues. It also provides performance opportunities for conservatoire graduates and exceptional young musicians who perform in smaller venues. In addition, the festival runs the biennial Surrey Hills Young Composer’s Competition adjudicated by renowned figures in the music industry and supports the String Scheme in local state primary schools with the help of the Festival Friends. Another important festival feature is the regular commissioning of new works by leading British composers.

The job offers tremendous scope for flexible home working to a Surrey resident, with outstanding opportunities to develop existing skills. These include organising, marketing, and administering festival events. As the work is from September to June, the successful candidate will have the summer months free. The new Festival Manager will work closely with the Chairman and Festival Management Committee and bring their own relevant experience to the role, as well as liaising with the festival’s PR advisers.
